To gauge where students drawing skill is today, to compare with where it will be in a few weeks, please encourage your student to complete the following 10-15 minute PRE-TEST.
Take your time, about 10-15 minutes to draw the below objects. Just do the best you can, don’t fret, don’t stress, this is ONLY a skills evaluation exercise There is no grading or having to “Pass” this test. Have some fun, have some chuckles, remember…you get to draw today! How GREAT is that!
Draw a line vertically down the middle of a piece of paper (or ideally in your student sketchbook), then draw a line horizontally across the middle of the piece of paper. You are now looking at a piece of paper separated into 4 equal sized squares (quadrants).
In square #1: Draw a house.
In square #2: Draw an airplane.
In square #3: Draw a pig.
In square #4: Draw a bagel.
Keep this completed Pre-Test in your sketchbook or your art pocketed folder, or in your super secret hiding place for your most important treasured items….you are going to be so GLAD you have this completed Student Pre-Test in a few weeks and months! You are going to LOVE showing off your very own Before/After drawings to your family and friends!
